IMG_8231We just returned from a fabulous weekend in San Luis Obispo where we went to college … and where we met. It was for great to go back to visit friends and to eat at some of our old haunts.

We got to catch up with old friends. It is crazy how fast life is moving, we got to check out one couple’s new home they are renovating and meet another’s new twin babies. I love this community and wish SLO was a little closer.

We arrived Friday night with 20 minutes to spare before Noi’s Little Thai Takeout closed. They have the most authentic thai food we have had since our honeymoon in Thailand.

We had Pad Kee Mow and Pad Prik King which were delicious. They only make one kind of curry per day (except Fridays have two options) and they were out of curry and egg rolls by the time we got there.

We were also staying in Los Osos and enjoyed being walking distance to the water. Here are my loves just after sunset.

We had a fabulous breakfast with babes in tow at my favorite cafe Sally Loo’s Wholesome Cafe. We had a scone to share, and then split the famous Acai Bowl (pictured) and a breakfast burrito.

Our final night we took takeout to a friend’s house from Petra, a mediterranean spot, which was fabulous and quite a deal. We had a mediterranean pizza, falafel plate, grilled veggies plate with extra dolmas and falafel to share. Neil and I had some happy hour beers while we waited for the food. It was great to be enjoying a drink in the sunshine, while Neil was on the phone with his sister who reported it was pouring rain at our house in Oakland. Gotta love SLO!

Love this place and the special people we have there. It was great to get out of the city for the weekend to relax and connect. I need more weekends like that.

Are you planning any weekend getaways? Any recommendations?

SLO weekend and eats!
